Hydroxy Silicone Fluids

Hydroxy silicone fluid, also known as silanol silicone fluid, is a hydroxyl-terminated linear polydimethylsiloxane. It is widely used as an additive, intermediate, or base polymer in multiple applications.

Low molecular weight hydroxy silicone fluid improves processing in filled silicone rubbers, preventing crepe hardening and extending storage life. It also acts as a base polymer for water repellents and as a hydrophobizing agent for fillers like silica.

Silico® offers hydroxy-terminated vinyl silicone fluids, methyl-phenyl silicone fluids, and fluorosilicone fluids. Hydroxy vinyl fluids enhance mechanical performance; phenyl fluids improve heat resistance; fluorosilicone fluids provide excellent chemical resistance and oil repellency.

Hydroxy fluorosilicone fluids are ideal for extreme temperatures and fuel exposure. They can also be used as fabric finishers, defoamers, and water/oil repellents in coatings and textiles.
