Phenyl MQ Silicone Resin

Phenyl MQ Silicone Resin

Silico® Phenyl MQ Silicone Resin is a high-quality methyl-phenyl MQ resin with phenyl-modified M and Q units. It offers excellent heat and UV resistance, high refractive index (1.53–1.54), strong film hardness, and low volatility. Ideal for LED encapsulation, UV coatings, PSAs, release liners, and insulation.

Product Overview

Silico® Phenyl MQ Silicone Resin is a premium-grade methyl-phenyl MQ-type organosilicon resin composed of monofunctional trimethylsiloxy (M) units and tetrafunctional siloxane (Q) units, partially substituted with phenyl groups. This structure delivers exceptional thermal stability, UV resistance, high refractive index (1.53–1.54), excellent film hardness, and low volatility.

Thanks to its outstanding compatibility with other silicones and polymers, Silico® Phenyl MQ Silicone Resin is widely used in:

  • High-temperature resistant and UV-curable coatings

  • LED encapsulation materials and optical adhesives

  • Pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs)

  • Release liners and electrical insulation systems

  • LED Encapsulation & Optical Films
High refractive index and transparency make it suitable for encapsulating LEDs and producing optical-grade silicones.

  • Silicone Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives (PSA)
Improves cohesive strength and thermal stability, especially when blended with polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS).

  • Release Liners
Enhances film formation and release performance in silicone-coated release papers and protective films.

  • Electrical Insulation Coatings
High dielectric strength and low moisture absorption make it ideal for electrical potting, insulation, and protective varnishes.

Key Features & Advantages

  • High Refractive Index (1.53–1.54) – Enhances optical clarity and brightness in transparent formulations.

  • Thermal Stability (≥300°C) – Suitable for extreme environments and high-temperature curing.

  • Excellent Film Hardness & Flexibility – Balances mechanical durability with adaptability to curved or elastic substrates.

  • Superior UV & Weather Resistance – Phenyl functionality resists yellowing and oxidation under prolonged exposure.

  • Good Compatibility – Mixes well with other silicone fluids, gums, and resins to tailor specific properties.

  • Low VOC – Minimizes emissions in line with global environmental standards.
