3-Chloropropyltriethoxysilane (CAS 5089-70-3) is a colorless, transparent liquid widely used as an affinity coupling agent and viscosity builder. It is a key raw material in the production of various silicones and additives, including triethoxysilane and 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane.
As a rubber processing aid, γ-chloropropyltrichlorosilane enhances the performance of halogenated rubber and inorganic fillers, improving the physical and mechanical properties of materials such as chloroprene rubber, chlorobutyl rubber, and chlorosulphonated polyethylene. When combined with quaternary ammonium cations, it forms organosilicon compounds used as anti-mold agents and deodorants. With its surface activity, it also offers functions such as sterilization, deodorization, and antistatic properties.
