Silico® FS8012 (CAS 68607-77-2) is a high-performance hydroxyl-terminated fluorosilicone polymer designed for advanced industrial and aerospace applications. Its unique chemical structure features trifluoropropyl groups in the siloxane backbone and reactive hydroxyl groups at both molecular ends. This dual functionality offers superior resistance to solvents, fuels, and chemicals, as well as enhanced thermal stability and low surface energy.
The reactive hydroxyl end groups make Silico® FS8012 an ideal intermediate for crosslinking systems, particularly in platinum-catalyzed addition-curing formulations. It is widely used in the development of high-durability elastomers, high-performance sealants, fluorosilicone RTV rubbers, and coatings that must withstand harsh environments, including extreme temperatures and aggressive chemical exposure.
