D5 Cyclo-2245-Cyclomethicone Fluid
(D5) Cyclo-2245 Cyclomethicone is a polydimethylcyclosiloxane made from Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane (CAS# 541-02-6). It is clear, odorless, tasteless, non-greasy, and non-stinging, offering excellent spreadability due to its low surface tension.
Thanks to its volatility, low surface tension, and non-greasy feel, Cyclomethicone is widely used as a base fluid, carrying agent, and wetting agent in a variety of personal care products. These include room sprays, body sprays, antiperspirants, skin creams, suntan lotions, bath oils, and hair care products.

D5 Cyclo-2245-Cyclomethicone Fluid
Cyclomethicone Fluids, including Cyclo-2245 (D5), are VOC-exempt and do not contribute to ozone depletion or global warming. They replace non-VOC petroleum-based solvents and are used as carrying agents and cleaning solvents. Cyclo-2245 is ideal for low to medium solvency applications.
These fluids have evaporation rates similar to naptha solvents and odorless mineral spirits, making them compatible with metals and plastics.
D5 Cyclomethicone is also a VOC-exempt cleaning agent in dry cleaning, acting as a safe carrying agent for detergents without damaging fabrics or colors.
Compared to D4 Cyclomethicone, Cyclo-2245 has a higher pour point, avoiding freezing issues.
