Phenyl Silane

Phenylsilane is a colorless, transparent liquid and a key silicone intermediate used as a hydrogenation reagent and raw material for silicone surfactants. It also serves as a reducing agent, photopolymerizes with methyl methacrylate (MMA), and acts as a silica source for synthesizing Si nanowires.

Applications:

  1. Reducing agent for phosphine oxide in polymers.
  2. Used in photopolymerization with MMA for SiH-containing polymers.
  3. Source of silica for Si nanowire synthesis.

Phenyl Silane: Guide

Phenylsilane is a key raw material for silicone surfactants and has various applications, including:

  • Preparation of phenyl T10 caged sesquicone.
  • Formulation of weather-resistant, ambient temperature curing water-based industrial topcoats.
  • Synthesis of phenyl-functionalized hydrophobic zeolite.
  • Creation of octaphenyl caged sesquisiloxane.
  • Development of protonox polyimide hybrid films containing POSS structures.

These applications highlight the versatility of phenylsilane in advanced materials and coatings.
